Mother daughter session at Marymoor Park.
I'm a girl mom myself, so whenever I get to capture a mother-daughter bond, it is so fulfilling. Summer photography sessions are extraordinary. The golden hour glow, the warm summer breeze and the minimal crowds means a relaxed session for everyone involved. Marymoor Park in Redmond is a huge park with athletic fields, playgrounds and trails. This park is also an awesome spot for a family photo session and one of my favorite locations for the summer months.
Marymoor Park has wide open spaces.
Marymoor Park has an awesome grassy field which allows me to use the light in different ways. I can back light your family and create a warm glow in your hair. I can front light you for soft, even light. And we can even do silhouettes to show off the colors of the sky. The wide open spaces are relaxing, allowing you to explore, cuddle and laugh comfortably.
Marymoor Park has a little bit of everything.
In the summer months, when its clear, there's peek-a-boo views of Mt. Rainier. You get the tall grasses, mountains and trees. Marymoor Park is also quieter than the more popular locations of Juanita Bay Park and Discovery Park. See more family photo session at Marymoor here and here.
Things to know at Marymoor Park:
I love family photo sessions at Marymoor Park. Here are a few things to note:
- Parking is $1 and some pay lots only take cash, so bring dollar bills!
- The best lighting for this field location is the hour before sunset.
- Marymoor is busy with concerts, drive in movies and events. I'll let you know if these things are occurring and if you need to add extra time to your drive.
